I invited five musicians to conduct a blindtest between the Bose Sounddock and the Altec Lansing Mix (I used to work for Altec.) The Bose product is $100 more than the Altec.

Hi, I just go off the phone with one of the techs @ BOSE, very polite I might add. He however was not able to help me get the cd player on our BOSE to work. $99.00 + shipping, Iwas told to get one “rehab” like new—was the only alternative.

I think we played 30 cds in the several years we have owned this product. Anyone know how to get thr thing to “READ” the cd before it can play it?
Did we buy an over priced product???

I’ve had an Arcam/BW system for 2 years and then replaced the whole thing for a Bose Wave System… i must prefer the Bose, just for the compact and powerful design. It may not be the quality of a proper hi-fi but all things considered it’s number 1 in my apartment!

“I always check all available and reliable sources before I buy anything these days”. Wow. Aren’t you SO special. I hate know it alls in general, but audio people are the worst. You treat everyone like garbage just because they haven’t devoted all their spare time to something that is pretty pointless. I hope the people that fix your computers and/or cars treat you just as bad.

bose is a cheap overpriced crappy company that has ripped me off so much. My second pair of bose headphones broke today

I agree fully, Up here in Canada they try to pass boss headphones off for a clean 220$ for a pair of can type headphones with 1/4” jacks.

meanwhile i can get technic headphones off the web for 55$ american.

I couldn’t agree more. Most of the people I know who purchased anything by Bose were gullible to the extreme. Pair that with the talent of some sales people and you get well-off people buying overpriced products because they are “in” or “cool” and will get “ooohs” and “ahhhs” from the in-crowd. Personally,

I think it serves them right. I always check all available and reliable sources before I buy anything these days, simply because even companies known for quality products have their slump-phases or have wildly varying degrees of quality control, depending on which audience they are targeting when.
