Archos posts impressive financial results for 2005
Finally! A company whose logo isn’t a white bitten fruit and posts positive financial results. We’re talking about Archos who owes its success to its powerful line of portable media players; powerful large-screen devices suited to video watching (and recording) such as the A700 (more AV700 coverage) and the AV500 (more AV500 coverage).
According to the press release [via]:
- sales almost doubled from €58.3M in 2004 to €103.1M in 2005
- Europe’s the largest market, but there was also a considerable increase in Asia (apparently Chinese have a thing for Archos PMPs); things weren’t bad in the US either whether the EchoStar deal (EchoStar sells AV400s and AV700s to DishNetwork satellite TV customers to record and get their favorite shows on the go)
