Napster reports 500K subscribers, but may not be able to make it
Napster reported they’ve doubled the customer base within a year by reaching 500,000 subscribers but the company may still be saying “bye, bye” to us soon. According to a Digital Music News report, all possible scenarios are considered within the company (massive layoffs, liquidation, fire sale). With the iTMS owning 83% of the market, there’s not much you can do, and we do know that Q2 -ended on September 30 ended with a $13.6M net loss (which is better than the previous $19.9M figure, but still). Most recent quarterly results to be posted on the 8th of February.
