New iPod shuffle in January?
You know, always take an analyst’s words with a big grain of salt, but American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu has a point: the recent contract with Hynix Semiconductor for flash memory chips could be related with a new iPod shuffle.
A smaller form factor (well, duh), introduction of new colors (black anyone?), same capacities/prices (512MB for $100 and 1GB for $130)—these all make sense, considering it’s been a while since the Shuffle was released (March) and according to recent market reports, it’s not the sales king it used to be (not that it doesn’t perform decently though).
According to Wu, the new Shuffle could come as early as January.
