Sony apologizes for rootkit (about time!), suspends production of XCP discs: while production of the Extended Copy Protection (XCP) discs is to be halted, their “content protection initiative” (a.k.a. DRM crap) ain’t gonna leave us—according to their statement, it’ll rather be reassessed. Read our previous coverage on Sony’s rootkit—there were even reports that it reported information back home.
