Briefly: iPod video, pt. 2
- The Clicker: Apple’s real plan for iPod video? (great commentary/speculation on what’s going to happen to the online trafficking of movies/TV shows with the advent of the new iPod)
- With New iPod, Apple Aims to Be a Video Star (“And Mr. Jobs also acknowledged that in endorsing hand-held video, he had made an about-face. [...] Mr. Jobs said he was entering the video market as an experiment, but one that he felt he could not lose because the players will sell well on their music-playing features alone.”) [via]
- The Apple message boils down to: Hey, video is a bonus. (Jobs: “This is the best iPod for music ever, and customers basically get the video for free”) [via]
- They’re Not Reruns, They’re iReruns! (poses the question: “why not being able to pay $1.99+ to view you favorite show’s episode a day before it airs?”) [via]
- Apple’s Baby Step Toward Movies (“The iPod—and Disney’s blessing—could eventually create a mass audience for video on the go, despite studios’ misgivings”)
