Briefly: Sony drops MD?, RIAA sues 750, Guide to free/legal music online, Thanko’s strap earphones, BitTorrent for Dummies book, iPodSubwayMaps update #2
- Sony’s silent farewell to MiniDisc? (no specific mention of it at Sony Group’s Fiscal Year 2005 Corporate Strategy Meeting; this was a long time coming, really—the only good reason to own a MiniDisc device is for those who want to tape concerts, and even then, Creative’s NJB3 does a better job, though it’s out of production now)
- RIAA Sues Another 750 For File Sharing (64 of them were Internet2 users)
- Free, Legal Music Online (I’m a sucker for well/over-produced music so the music from unsigned indie rock bands that floats in abundence leaves me indifferent, but this is a good wrap-up) [via]
- Thanko’s strap with integrated earphones (lanyard + headphones; available in Japan, for 1,780 yen which is about $16 USD)
- “BitTorrent For Dummies” book now available (the book’s website/blog [via] is pretty informative as well)
- Washington DC WMATA gives iPodSubwayMaps license for free (in contrast to the NY MTA that asks $500) [via]
