Briefly: DRM10 support for Zen Touch, Nano brings competitors prices down, Internet2 RIAA lawsuits, Black iPod headphones DIY, Kettle Amp, Nano error messages
- Zen Touch to get Windows Media DRM 10 (Janus) support in October (according to a Creative rep on the company’s forums; also, MTP support—I love the fact that Creative doesn’t release software updates only for its latest line of players; wish Apple did the same too) [via]
- Taiwan market: iRiver, BenQ drop MP3 player prices to vie with iPod nano (good news for the customers; iRiver U10’s price down %13 or ~$45; BenQ, MSI proceeded in similar moves) [via]
- 64 ‘Internet2’ Academic Network Users Sued (”[...] 64 people at 17 universities, accusing them of using the i2hub online file-sharing application to make music files available over the super-fast network”—if you were given a superfast connection, what would be the first thing you’d do?)
- Making Black iPod headphones (to match your black iPod nano)
- Building a META42 headphone amp inside a kettle (he’s nuts; the humanity thanks Bangraman for not posting the instructions to do this)
- If you’re seeing such error messages when plugging your Nano to the computer, suspect an underpowered USB port as the culprit (such error messages, meaning: “The iPod nano cannot be updated. The disk could not be read from or written to.”)
