Briefly: iPod speakers deal, FS1 earphones announced, More iPod love, Cowon A2 pics, Apple protecting its iPod brand

  • Deal: Pacific Rim Cube Travel Speakers 50% off to $19.99 (it’s compatible with all HDD-based iPods, no word on Nano; seems like a nice deal; offer valid till September 24th, use coupon code “APPLEEXPO”) [via]

  • FS1 High Definition Earphones (announced by XtremeMac in Apple Expo; in-ear, result of the partnership with Future Sonics, we’ll try to find more about these; available for pre-order at $149.95, shipping begins November 1st) [via]

  • The iPod tops CNET’s top-ten gadgets of the last 10 years (“No other product has had the incredible, loyal devotion that the iPod inspires.”)

  • Cowon A2 pictures (to be released in South Korea next month) [via]

  • E-Tailers Get Apple Nastygrams (“Apple is ordering several online iPod accessory vendors to stop using the word “iPod” in their names or URLs”, which is understandable considering they’re trying to protect their brand & everything; what I can’t stand is pushing this to the edge—for example, they’re informing the site owners “that we must use the correct nouns and adjectives when describing Apple’s branded mobile digital device, calling it an ‘Apple iPod Device’”)
