Toshiba F20 reviewed
This HDD-based MP3 player by Toshiba comes in 20/40/60GB versions. It stands out for its “CD RipRec” feature; you dock the Gigabeat, press the “Rip” button on the cradle, and your audio CD is automatically ripped and transferred to the player; unfortunately though, it’s ripped in WMA format. Other than that, it’s got a nice 2.2’’ color screen, a battery life that comes close to its claimed 18-hour life, and a “Plus Touch” touchpad that “accepts taps, holds and slides as input methods for different functions”, but is a bit slow. The included Gigabeat Room software kinda sucks (when will DAP manufacturers realize that this is an important part of the equation?), and the UI needs works, but this offering by Toshiba manages to get a 7/10 rating.
