Briefly: Yet another iPod nano special (these will end someday, promise)

  • iLounge’s iPod nano review (rating: A; don’t miss the photo-gallery; sound-wise: the usual excellent but bass-less iPod sound, with no 4G-static like problems; on the battery front, it marginally exceeds the expectations at 14+ hours; body-wise: the polished acrylic and metal design shows fingerprints and scratches—mini’s anodized aluminum why have you left us?)

  • iPod nano stress testing (testing its breakability, they went over some harsh tests; it survived a drop at 50mph and one from 9ft hight, it even lasted while being run over by a car—twice!—but it finally gave up the ghost when dropped from 40ft high; the pictures make DAP afficionados all around the world a bit sad) [via]

  • How to mod an iPod nano (“change the text strings, mod the font and even change the graphics (sorta)”; if you’re one of these who think the font size is a bit too small for reading the Notes, a hack may be in order) [via]

  • Stevie’s Little Wonder (more background info on the ‘let’s go Nano’ decision and what it took to get there: they had to complete rework its innards, only a small group at Apple even knew about the Nano before it launched, Jonathan Ive is an obsessive design freak—what’s new about that one?)

  • Honey, I Shrunk The iPod. A Lot. (yet another piece with behind-the-scenes looks regarding Nano’s launch; Jobs: “Playing it safe is the most dangerous thing we can do. We have to get bolder.”) [via]
