Briefly: iRiver H10 deal, Creative music video store, Sony’s restructuring plan, 2GB microSD cards, ROKR E1 review

  • Deal: iRiver H10 (6GB) for $169 (the same unit goes for $240 on Amazon.com; color display for viewing pictures, FM, radio & voice recording, user-replaceable battery rated at 12 hours) [via]

  • Creative to Launch Music Video Store (partnered with Soundbuzz; hoping to drive sales of the Zen Vision and other PVPs; to launch in Singapore next month, in Asia shortly after, no word on other markets; Sony BMG & EMI have already signed, other labels expect to sign on by early 2006) [via]

  • Sony to reveal new plans Sept 22 (“Welsh-born Sony CEO Howard Stringer will reveal the new agenda, which previous comments from the company have suggested will include a reduction in its product line and a possible exit from badly performing sectors”; I’ve got high hopes for this; consumers need a healthy, competitive, innovative Sony—it’s good for the competition)

  • 2GB microSD cards expected next year (512MB microSD cards are currently used in ROKR E1; 1GB cards to be released in limited qualities in Q4 2005)

  • Super First Look: Motorola ROKR E1 iTunes Phone (good sound, though left/right channels sometimes get flipped: probably a firmware glitch, you can use your existing headphones using an included adapter cable; Bluetooth: for data files only, no iTunes tracks, which is really a shame—also: here’s their full review)
