Briefly: Noise-cancelling headphones, Neuros deal, Hard-Fi set-top box, Sony’s low ambitions, 2005 IDEA Awards, Taiwan P2P network goes down
- Build These Noise-Canceling Headphones (the HeadWize audiogeeks strike again; noice-canceling phones generally suck, but if you wanna giv’em a shot and can reach schematics, go for it) [via]
- Deal: Neuros to offer their 442 Portable Media Player on Woot.com before releasing it publicly (the PMP can record from any video source and reproduce those recordings on the unit; ”$329.99 with completion of on-line survey and mail-in rebate, and a 6-month, no-questions-asked return policy”; to be quite honest, I would hesitate going for this, but I’m posting it here just in case someone’s interested)
- Hard-Fi is a set-top box that rips your CDs, tags them and transfers them to your DAP (sounds nice, but we don’t know the price and until it comes in production and I read reviews that claims it works, I’m not going to devote a whole post to it; this block diagram provided on their website kinda eliminates any vaporware suspicions but we’ll see) [via]
