Briefly: iRiver + Rockbox, Nano effect, More ROKR, Car dock patent
- Rockbox firmware for iRiver (open-source firmware for the iRiver iHP-1xx series models, with lots of goodies like gapless playback and on-the-fly playlists, progressing nicely; the author gave it a shot while it’s still work-in-progress and it works fine)
- Nano to start a replacement cycle among iPod owners (Gene Munster, analyst: ”[...] a dramatically different iPod. It’s not only going to bring new people into the market, but it will start a replacement cycle among iPod owners. Everyone is going to want one.”; it’s certainly a spectacular device, but its memory capacity won’t let those who’re used to carrying more tunes on their iPods upgrade) [via]
- Yep, we’ve got a ROKR—What do you want to know? (just ask)
- Apple patents car dock for iPod (“an iPod-ready docking station that could fit in a standard cup holder”)
